We feel privileged to support rescued food for people in need and provide a central location/hubs where Secondbite can drop off food for our project and other agencies across Victoria. Currently Northpoint, Croydon and Rowville-Lysterfield are supporting this initiative. Rowville – Lysterfield:
On Tuesday night, June 13th the Minister for Citizenship and Multicultural Affairs – Alan Tudge visited the team at Rowville/Lysterfield to see the new freezers bought with the government’s community grant. The freezers will help to store food from Secondbite for people in need.
“On behalf of Rowville/Lysterfield Church, I take this opportunity to thank all the volunteers for their time and effort in joining hands with ADRA Australia in service to the community. It is through the social relations that Christianity comes in contact with the world.” Lourdes Meunier – ADRA Project Manager.
Vive Café – Croydon
We are now a SecondBite hub for: Mullum Mullum Indigenous Gathering Place, Croydon Uniting Church Helping Hand, Wesley Mission Homelessness and Support Services and Elishacare. Over 500kg of fresh produce will be delivered every Wednesday to support people in need. Thanks to Penny Moore from Maroondah City Council and Elishacare for all your support!
