SEVY 707 Vespers Encourages Youth to have Audacity

Friday, April 24, marked another powerful gathering of the SEVY 707 Vespers for 2026, as we continued our Friday night worship with young people across the south-east region of Melbourne.
The name 707 is inspired by Matthew 7:7: “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.”
Since launching in June last year, we have encouraged different youth groups to host the program each month. This year, we’ve expanded by inviting various leaders within the SEVY region to lead and inspire our gatherings.
On this special evening, we were blessed to have Pastor Lagi, Chaplain of Heritage College, share a powerful word of encouragement. Speaking from the book of Mark, his message titled “The Audacity of the Ugly Cry” deeply resonated with our young people.
We were encouraged to see so many young people in attendance, a true reflection of God’s work in bringing individuals together from all walks of life. We are incredibly grateful for the dedication of our leaders in local churches and for the unity shared among SEVY youth. Their passion to serve and worship is truly inspiring to witness in these times.
A special highlight leading into this program was the baptism of Zion Sofe (Carrum Downs Samoan Adventist Youth), Joaquin Saluni (Frankston Adventist Youth), and Mireya Orellana (Springvale Spanish Adventist Youth), who gave their lives to Christ just a week before our 707 gathering. We affirm and celebrate their decisions within our SEVY youth family. Their commitment stands as a powerful testament to the work of the Holy Spirit moving among our young people.
We look forward with expectation to seeing God continue to move in the lives of our young people, helping them grow in their faith as they journey with hope, and as we continue the mission of winning souls for His kingdom.
