In mid-March Casey Seventh-day Adventist church held our 5th Health Expo in the City of Casey. We have been supported each year through the City of Casey’s Community Grants, which has enabled us to hold various Health

Expos, such as NEWSTART Health Expo, Dinner with the Health Professionals, focusing on Lifestyle Medicines and our recent Meet the Health Professionals mini health expo, focusing on Depression and Anxiety.

These yearly community grants have not only provided support in sharing our health message but they also help build community connections and have established close working ties with the City of Casey, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Receiving two lots of funding this financial year has allowed us to train ten Depression Anxiety Recovery Program (DARP) Facilitators and Associated Directors, and to hold the mini health expo and health professionals talks on Depression and Anxiety.

From this we were able to launch our 8th DARP program this year and secure our partnership with the council through a Memorandum of Understanding towards the DARP programs to be held at Lynbrook Family and Children’s Services Centre.

The church has come together in supporting these health expos, with our Casey ADRA team providing food relief to those in need, personal ministries team assisting with programs such as Forgive To Live, Daniel or Revelation seminars, prayers ministries through prayer support and our deacons and deaconess in setting up the health expos.
