DIGGING DEEPER

What’s your first thought when you think about submitting to someone else?
Yielding to someone else often means letting go of your own pride and ego.
Why is that so hard for many of us?

Read Philippians 2:3
Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit.  Rather, in humility value others above yourselves.   This also considers the idea of mutual submission. What do you
think this verse adds?

Lani argued that the inequality of men and women in our society is a result of the curse.  Do you agree?

Lani suggested that showing agape love for your wife is actually more difficult than merely submitting to her. Discuss that idea.

TO THINK ABOUT & PRAY

God’s love in our lives should change us. The first place we should see that change is within our own homes and families.

How can I apply those principles of love and mutual submission into my own relationship this week?
