Dorothy Davis was born and raised on the family farm at Weerite in Victoria where she still lives today. Her father, Joseph Stewart, was a founding member of Camperdown Adventist Church and had held the office of treasurer from the church’s beginnings in 1926 until his death in March 1958. Dot, as she was affectionately known, was attending Avondale College with her sister, Maureen, when she received the news that their father had passed away. After the funeral, she returned to Avondale to complete her studies. These were years of change for Dot and in February 1959, She married Ian Davis. After settling into life back on the farm with Ian, she took on the role of church treasurer in early 1960. Dot continued in this role for the next 60 years. Both Dot and Ian have given a lifetime of service to Camperdown church and following the death of Ian in March this year, Dot made the decision to step aside to allow someone else to take up the challenge. We would like to thank Dot for her commitment to our church at Camperdown and honour her amazing example of dedicated service.
