In response to an article shared recently about the Markly1:12 Christian Car Enthusiasts club, Phil Jensen sent in his endorsement of car clubs.
A car club is a great idea. I am in my 70s and am a member of the Delatite Car Club. Most of the events held by the club are on Sundays which I try to attend with my Classic car and so have not had a need to compromise the Sabbath. It is a great way to socialise and reach people that we as a church have, to my knowledge, not as yet capitalised on.
For those who don’t know, a classic car (any make or model as long as it is road worthy) is one that is over 25 years old and I have got about $6000 tied up in an immaculate Toyota Lexus that gives my wife and I a great deal of pleasure. Also once you become a car club member the annual registration is about $150.00 per year and the annual full insurance on my vehicle is about $240.00 per year.
As can be seen there is no need to spend a lot of money to become involved in becoming a car club member.
