What Do You Think: Episode, Waymaker.TV March 14th
A recent study by Australian astronomers estimated that there are over 70 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 stars in the galaxy. That’s 70 sextillion stars, 7 followed by 22 zeros, or 70,000 million, million, million.
The Bible says in Psalms 147:4 – “He determines the number of the stars and calls them each by name”. We could spend the rest of our lives guessing and counting till we’re blue in the face but only God knows exactly how many stars there are.
Sometimes I get so caught up in the routine and mundanity of life that I forget how huge and powerful God actually is. I can get tangled up in my own work and personal problems that I can pray, “Dear Lord, thank you for this food. Amen,” and forget exactly who I’m praying to. The master of the universe. He is unrivaled in his indescribable, all-powerful and all-loving nature. Our God created a beautiful complex world, perfectly and precisely distanced from the sun, orbiting in a perfect circle, spinning at the right pace and at the right angle.
God accounts as easily for all the stars in the milky way as He does the hairs on my head. If He can keep track of the individual planets and stars in all the universe, you can be confident that He can also keep track of the intimate details of our lives, He is intensely interested in each and every one of us.
Praise be that God is bigger than any problem we can ever, and will ever face. He is all powerful and ready to be active in everything we do. Be encouraged to trust Him to guide you just as He continuously and tirelessly guides the 70 sextillion stars in the sky.
