Lilydale Church is alive and well, despite not being able to meet together. As with most of our churches, the admin side has continued thanks to platforms such as zoom. Here is some of what the rest of Lilydale has been doing!
Church – online church services are continuing to operate with a wide variety of people contributing.
Sabbath School – Each week the kids Sabbath School have had new postings to our YouTube channel with stories, activities and crafts for the Kids. The creativity on display has been truly amazing. More recently Juniors started meeting via zoom and they are loving it. Sabbath Primary Sabbath School had their first Zoom meeting early June as well. High School Sabbath school has picked up kids from all over and has often seen teens stay online well into the afternoon just to hang out together. Adult Sabbath schools are meeting Sabbath mornings with people enjoying the lesson and then often staying online to chat together and catch up on life. Some adult classes have also met Sabbath afternoon, Friday and Saturday night, and mid week. The Young Adults also meet Sabbath morning – and a number of online youth social events have happened.
Prayer Warriors – this group has been regularly praying for specific needs that arise in the church and wider community. Those that make up this group make each request a specific focus of their prayers. Paul Woodward is the conduit for any requests people have.
Pathfinders have been meeting online using Zoom. Pathfinders was proactive at getting things going again – and the breakout rooms feature has allowed everyone to meet together to start with before separating into their different classes.
Adventurers have provided a monthly honour for Adventurers to do, the most recent one being about bikes.
Noah’s Ark Playgroup took a break for a time when lock down happened. The ladies running playgroup kept in contact with the group, and last week restarted meeting online using Zoom. It is planned that this will continue each Tuesday morning while current restrictions are in place.
Online Outreach – Predictions of Hope has been followed by Hope Awakens online. We know that these online presentations have been watched by some people in our area.
Bread Distribution has continued each Friday night with people collecting bread and sharing it each week.
