The beginning of the restrictions was a time of steep learning for Springvale Church members and their pastor, Victor Acuna. The pastor set up a studio at home to record his sermons for the members.
Many members are elderly but they persevered, with phone call tutoring by the pastor (as he crash coursed himself), and are able to use Zoom and tune into YouTube for the church service which has over 60 viewers.
On Sabbath the members meet by Zoom for Sabbath school (children’s and adults) and watch the sermon on YouTube. During the week they meet for Bible Study on Tuesday evenings.
Praise God that we are able to still meet using today’s technology. Lets look for ways to expand our reach. As Pr Acuna says, we have a great opportunity. People are in crisis – people who may not step foot inside a church building, but may tune in. And we can help them find help for their anxiety and distress.
