Congratulations Emanuel. Avondale University College approached Emanuel to fill a need in teaching position that will be online. The initial plan had been for him to go to Avondale for the first two weeks, in August to meet people and get set up, however Victoria’s recent lockdown complicated things… but lets give Emanuel the chance to tell you about it…
“Avondale approached me about teaching Hebrew 1A and Hebrew Prophets next Semester which begins in August. I will continue my pastoral ministry at Yarra Valley Church while teaching online. My interest in Hebrew began while I was working in the finance industry after making it a life goal to read the Word of God in its original languages. I enrolled in a Hebrew introduction course that was offered to the community by Temple Beth Israel Synagogue in St Kilda. This helped me tremendously with Biblical Hebrew when I eventually went to Seminary at Andrews University. Since graduating I have kept up my Hebrew by referring to it in my devotionals and in sermon preparations. Hebrew is a rich and multi-layered language which can communicate several ideas at once and it is fascinating to explore it. I look forward to the exciting opportunity to connect with future ministers at Avondale and to grow with them in our understanding of God and His Word.”
