We are all adjusting to a new normal. A new way of doing life, a new way of doing church and a new way of meeting the ever present needs of our kids. And I don’t know about your family, but I know in mine there was a ‘great disappointment’ along with weeping and gnashing of teeth when my kids found out that Big Camp was cancelled this year. Two years without Big Camp… it’s too much!!!
The Children’s Ministries leaders from around Australia have been working hard behind the scenes to develop a number of resources, one of those being an ‘online’ Easter program to replace our Big Camp called ‘Big Camp @ home’. There will be songs, craft, fun activities and a great speaker to support them in navigating these tough times. We can’t do things in the normal way, but we can have some fun doing ‘normal’ in a different way for now.
While, of course, nothing replaces the real thing, we are hoping that by providing a fun program especially for kids, they will know how special and treasured they are. You can access this program on the ‘disciple.org.au’ website (https://disciple.org.au/resource_category/children-and-family/) or find a link through the Children’s and Family Ministries Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/SDAChildrenAndFamiliesAU/?__tn__=%2Cd%2CP-R&eid=ARCIwgqbGNlZC2YJiJxTVSuw1yn0tBkUvPdivEt_AgA46ydNdcsbun5n8AsM5OlLBrnCugaOkctY7bwp
Both of these sites have many other online resources that are designed to help you navigate this unusual and somewhat stressful time. If you have anything that you believe others will find valuable, please let us know! Our prayer is that we come through this with stronger families, stronger communities, and above all a deeper relationship with Jesus.
