For a number of years, Pr Georges Latchman has spent time each week coaching children who take maths seriously and somehow it turns into a Bible lesson! He has found these children so responsive to God and has seen a number get baptised.
Currently he coaches year level 4 upwards, and supporting parents take the younger children. They meet at Heritage College on a Sunday morning and attendance is up to 27 students and seven or so parents from the Oromo Adventist church at Parkdale, who help out. They sometimes speak English, sometimes Oromo to stay fluent, and even discuss careers and Georges proudly calls them his medical missionary university students.
He also works with a group of Samoan children in the West, some Karen children in Bendigo, and some Sudanese children out West.
