Max (name changed) is a lonely artistic man. He suffered from depression but has come through with a different perspective on life.
His ambition in life now is to help others, especially children, to express themselves. He started cartoon drawing two years ago as a means of sharing his own feelings and this blossomed into an idea of using his art to help others share theirs.
As I was showing Max our Beyond DVDs, stating that they are Bible based, he said, “If you had’ve come to my door four years ago I would never have talked to you now.”
On asking about his beliefs he said, “I know there is a God, but I feel like a hypocrite. I have done some bad things.” I replied, “God will forgive you.” Saddened he said, “I know that, but I cannot forgive myself.”
Max also shared with me the heartache of loosing his sister. He said that she went to the doctor for something minor but was diagnosed with cancer. Nine weeks later his sister passed away and he is still struggling with the loss of his loved one. I was very pleased when he accepted to watch our Beyond DVDs.
At the end of my visit Max said, “You know, I was down at the library and had forgotten
to take my watch to be repaired so I came back home for it. It looked like it was going to rain, so I decided not to go out again. It was then that you knocked on my door.”
God’s timing is perfect!
Please keep Max in your prayers as our church members visit him.
