Heritage College held the Grand Opening of the new Primary school facilities on Thursday 5 May 2022 to commemorate the finalised project.
Member for Eastern Victoria Ms Harriet Shing was in attendance to commemorate the opening, as well as representatives from Kneeler Design Architects, Newpol Construction and Adventist Schools Victoria. The initial Primary facilities with four classroom spaces were extended into a new Primary Precinct, including a second wing with seven additional classroom spaces.
In plans developed by Kneeler Design Architects, the new precinct also includes group learning spaces, a Music Room and a dedicated Multi-Purpose area. The outdoor recreation space was improved with an additional basketball court, providing a second court for Primary students. Newpol Construction was commissioned to complete the building works.
The building project is a significant investment in the infrastructure of the college, provided with the assistance of the Victorian State Government Building Grants program. The principal of Heritage College, Mr Sonny Aiono, said that the local community will benefit from the project.
“We are grateful for the state government’s support in providing this substantial funding, which allows us to meet the demands of growth in the local community.”
“This is certainly a blessing from God and an answer to prayer.”
“This project allows us to build on our strong enrolment growth and offer a diverse range of learning options for families,” Mr Aiono said.
While the building was officially completed in February 2021 pandemic conditions impacted the initial Grand Opening date.
