In the famous prayer of Jesus, He prayed “Your Kingdom come, may Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.” Imagine experiencing the culture of God’s heavenly kingdom – right here, right now! What would that look like?
At Nunawading Christian College Primary Week of Worship, students learnt about Kingdom Culture principles such as:
- peace rather than fear
- a sense of belonging rather than loneliness
- generosity rather than selfishness
- forgiveness rather than vengeance.
Students were encouraged to practise these Kingdom values, right here, right now, at school and in the community.
ELC and lower Primary children enjoyed a puppet show every day with Toto the Monkey, Boohoo the Elephant, Twiga the Giraffe and Eeyore the Donkey all telling the story of Kingdom values. Years 3-6 students enjoyed Bible stories brought to life by our guest speaker and children’s author, Mr Dave Edgren.
Our 72 year 5 and 6 students were challenged to choose to be in God’s kingdom, with eleven students requesting to prepare for baptism (five from Adventist background), and a further 8eight students requesting Bible studies to know more about Jesus, with the balance affirming they knew Jesus loved them.
The core mission of Adventist schools is to introduce children to Jesus, invite them into relationship with Him, and build the Kingdom of God. What a privilege to be a part of this mission.
