NCC Secondary recently held our annual Week of Worship (aka WOW) focusing on the theme of ‘Kingdom Culture’. We delved into how we can use what God wants for us, to build our community into a Kingdom Culture. Our speaker was ‘Pr G’ – Gerrard Price, Chaplain at our sister school, Henderson College. Pr G gave us the definition of a Kingdom Culture right from the very start of the week stating that “A kingdom culture is about building up a nation of people who cultivate shared beliefs, values and attitudes. It’s citizens reflect the King in every facet of life, wherever they go.”
The students were challenged to develop strategies on how to create and build a relationship with God, how to grow to live authentically in Him, how to take up every intended opportunity and how to make it happen and share God into the real world.
An important part of Week of Worship is the music! This year, we were blessed to have so many talented student musicians and two local church volunteers willing to dedicate themselves to making the worship the best it could be! Throughout the week God really made His presence known as more and more students engaged in worship.
During WOW, students were challenged to step out in faith and take the next step in developing their relationship with Jesus. The response to this was incredible!! 24% of our NCC Secondary students signed up for Bible Studies and 54% of our students declared that they wanted to continue to grow a Kingdom Culture at NCC. Not only that, but 13% of our students took a true leap of faith by wanting to learn more about baptism. This has really inspired us, as we are super excited to see the students of NCC grow their own personal relationships with God, as well as to support each other through this journey.
A MASSIVE thank you to those in our NCC community including local church pastors who volunteered their time to make Week of Worship amazing! We even had pastors cooking and serving at our barbecue on the final day. We cannot wait for all the exciting things to happen in the coming terms!
A Year 9 student stated “WOW was so incredibly inspiring and opened up many opportunities to strengthen and grow your relationship with God.”
