Hi Everyone,
Since the last newsletter we have had two programs with the singles. In June, 17 singles, including 5 new members, joined together at the Exquisite Madoljai Thai Restaurant for a very enjoyable time together of lively discussion and interesting food. Then in July, 26 braved the weather to travel to Mooroolbark at the invitation from Carol to celebrate her birthday. Thank you Carol for a great afternoon and may you have many more years to celebrate.
On the 24th August we are meeting at 6pm outside Imax Theatre (ground floor) at rear of the Royal Exhibition Building, Nicholson St, Carlton to enjoy the “White Night Experience”`. This will be something different and enjoyable as Wayne guides you around the city, either by walking or on the tram. Don’t forget to let Wayne know you are coming and bring your MYKI card, good walking shoes and a warm jacket. See the enclosed advertising.
21st September Wayne has invited us to his home for a BBQ and homes evening together. He has an interesting time organized for us, so invite your friends to join us as new members are always welcome. We will need you to phone Wayne 0400 866 020 if you are coming for catering purposes. Advertising enclosed.
Pr. Gary Kent will be our guest speaker at Elkanah in Marysville 22nd-24th November. Please keep these dates free as we are expecting this weekend retreat to be well attended.
To bring in the New Year we are planning on a cruise in the bay but to hire the boat we will need at least 100 people, so it will be open to other church members and friends. But we do need to know the possible numbers of those who would be interested. We could hire a bus to make the transport easier for everyone. Congratulations to Christine Young and John Prosser on the announcement of your engagement. No wedding date has been set yet but we will keep you informed. John and Christine met by attending the singles programs, and we wish you both God’s blessings as you plan your life’s together.
