Tom Fowler, member of the Nunawading SDA church celebrated his 100th Birthday with family and friends on the 2nd of September 2019.
Tom has been an active member of the SDA church for 70 years, since he was convicted of the truth at a Reeves/Kranz Mission in 1949 and was baptised in the Prahran church.
During his church life, Tom helped to build and finance the Swan Hill SDA Church, as well as participating in traveling overseas on 3 fly and builds, a fly and paint, and painting various churches during their renovations.
At 100, Tom still cares for himself in his unit at ‘Advent Care’ Nunawading. Tom attributes his long life to the healthy lifestyle he has followed for many years and the active hand of God protecting him during his Century of life. God has preserved him through WW2 when he was in the Navy, escaping a Kamikaze attack on his ship, protection from Radiation during his time spent in the recently bombed Hiroshima and many years later walking away from a head on collision with a heavily laden semi-trailer. Tom is greatly blessed with good health, family and friends, but greater still by his wonderful Father in Heaven.
