It has been a difficult few weeks of lockdown so we wanted to share with you a little encouragement from one of our schools…
Below you will find a range of student writing which describes how our students see their school community. We hope you will be encouraged knowing that our Schools’ vision of education is clear, we are making a difference and that our precious children are thriving.
Here are some reflections from a survey at NCC completed in March 2021.
What I love most about NCC is….
‘The involvement we have in Chapel, ReVibe and other spiritual events.’
“We learn about Jesus.”
‘It is not just academic, but also spiritual.’
‘I love that we have a ‘Kingdom culture.’’
What I value about NCC is…
‘Learning about Jesus’
‘The teachers really try hard and make it a nice environment for students. I love hanging out with friends and I feel welcomed here’.
‘The teachers, the values, the community.’
‘How we relate everything to God not just about academics – a “Kingdom culture”’
‘Sporting opportunities.’
‘Teachers genuinely care about you as a person.’
‘The education and privilege of having such great teachers.’
‘Diversity, acceptance, standards.’
‘Spiritual growth together.’
‘School challenges each and every individual.’
The 3 best things about NCC are…
‘The community vibe, school events, the fact that we get a say in things just like this survey.”
‘Great community, good facilities and the ability to learn.’
‘The community, the kindness and how fun it is coming to school and learning.’
‘It is easy to understand what we are learning.’
‘Good education, no bullying, the teachers try really hard to make learning interesting.’
In Year 7 English, students were asked to write about significant places in their community. Here’s what two students chose to share about NCC.
This place is very significant to me because I have been here since Prep. It has really impacted on who I am today and what my identity is, because of the rules, environment and community. I have had many experiences through the years that I have spent in this school, from all the fun fundraisers to whole school events like concerts and rollerama. – Zo Tuang,
NCC. The best school ever. This place is significant to me because of the Christian education, how much the teachers care about the students and their connection with God and how kind and friendly students are towards other students. I may not be a Seventh Day Adventist, but I know that this religion is incredible and very spiritual. – Year 7
In Year 1 English, students have been exploring the genre of descriptive writing and recently described NCC.
NCC is a Christian school. NCC has from ELC to Year 12. NCC has a beautiful library. NCC has a music room. At NCC I get to go to the library and borrow books. At NCC I get to learn music. NCC is special because we get to have WOW week. NCC is special because we have music. I think NCC is an amazing school. – Gwyneth
All the best for the journey ahead, as together we shape the future.
