It’s interesting how seasons work: winter is cold and feels long, at least for me as I’m originally from Queensland; Spring is nice and chirpy as the warmth starts to set in; Summer is filled with fun; and Autumn is just bliss, not too hot not too cold, just right.
Seasons… they’re all different and they each bring different experiences.
I’ve experienced a unique season here in Melbourne. But, as I’m sure you are aware, I’m not talking about the weather (although we do experience all four seasons in one day here!) I’m talking about a season of ministry. Sadly that season of ministry is coming to an end. I have accepted a call to become Youth Director for the Greater Sydney Conference and will begin in January 2019.
It’s probably surprising to some that we are moving on so quickly. My wife and I will have been in the Victorian Conference for two years at the end of this year, but I do believe God puts people in certain places for certain seasons. We have learned a great deal here while working in the Conference and it has been a good training ground for a call to a more challenging role. Please keep us in your prayers as we make the transition to further God’s work in another field.
Victoria’s Youth Ministry is in great hands under the directorship of Phil Hyland and we have an excellent bunch of young people in this Conference. I look forward to seeing how the Youth of Victoria continue to carry the Gospel of Jesus to the world as we look forward to His second coming. Thanks so much for the opportunity to minister in this region, and I wish you all God’s blessings!
