27 February 2021 was the day to be at Spotswood Seventh Day Adventist church. It was the day where we celebrated four souls ( Caitlin Dube, Simba Rugube, Laureen Choruma and Tjedza Goitsemang) joining the church through baptism.
They all stood before the church and said in their own way “ l do!” to their Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
In preparation for the baptismal day, each candidate had prepared a video clip affirming their love and commitment to serving the church and others as a response to the love and forgiveness they found in Christ Jesus.
The day was graced by the presence of friends, families and even a Summer camp cabin leader, who came to support the young people getting baptised.
Pastor Brian spoke about what it meant to be a Jew and what it took for a foreigner to be converted into Judaism. He challenged the young people who were getting baptised to be engaged in the service and reflect on the choice they had made.
At the end of the service the Pastor and the church took the time to acknowledge the other young people (Lubalethu Nkomo, Charleen Choruma and Nathan Goitsemang) who had participated in the baptismal classes and wanted to confirm their faith in the Lord.
The four newly baptised members were given gifts by the church that would encourage them in their walk with Christ and were welcomed into the church by the elders and the church at family.
