Like a number of other churches, Wantirna commemorated Easter by celebrating Communion via Zoom.
Paul, our Head Elder, led out during our weekly church “Virtual Family Room” as he shared from numerous passages in the Bible and the privilege that we have in being able to do this amidst this current climate. He talked about the significance of foot-washing, and we chose to focus solely on partaking on the bread and wine this time.
More than 50 people joined in, including a handful via phone with no video. The newsletter the preceeding Thursday as well as our social media platforms had included recipes on how to make the Communion bread, and most were ready even before church started.
It was an experience unlike any other as we had members of all ages partaking and remembering the greatest event in the history of mankind – the death and sacrifice of our Lord and Saviour!
