Evonn Reyno joins the pastoral team as a lay pastor.
Born and raised in the southern region of Philippines., he earned his degree in Theology from Mountain View College. He moved to Loma Linda, California after graduation and as part of his transitioning into the USA, he decided to pursue a degree in Allied Health from Loma Linda University.
But Reyno has always had a passion for working with the young people so he volunteered at the Thai Adventist Church, working in the youth department. There he met and married Selina.
“I was then called to a Filipino-American SDA Church as a youth pastor in Palm Springs, California,” says Evonn. “After two and a half years of working at Palm Springs, I had an opportunity to youth pastor Claremont International SDA church in Ontario, California as part-time worker and full-time physiotherapist.”
The family decided to move to Melbourne in 2014, and in late 2018, saw the need to plant a church around where they lived. “Praise the Lord for His guidance because now He has allowed my family and I to use our talents with other groups of passionate people to plant a church in Craigieburn, northern region of Melbourne.”
Selina worked as a pediatric dietitian in Loma Linda University Medical Centre, for over twelve years. They have four beautiful children, Nathan (11), Joshua (10), Ellie (7), and Daniel (5). In their spare time they love spending as much time outdoors – camping and hiking – and love to learn about nature together.
“Our goal as a family is to continue to carry out the calling God has called us to do, which is to share the gospel of Jesus to everyone.”
