Brayden Rath has officially joined the Victorian pastoral team with the commencement of his Ministerial Internship this year serving in the Mildura and Dareton churches.
He comes to the pastoral team from a four year stint working as a school Chaplain at Gilson College (Taylors Hill) in the western suburbs of Melbourne, where he developed skills in creating an inclusive and authentic community with a diverse group of students.
Before working at Gilson, Brayden studied a Bachelor of Theology & Ministry at Avondale University College, and lived in London temporarily working in schools, predominantly at a Pupil Referral Unit with “at risk” high school students with behavioural problems. Additionally he worked for a year at Kellyville Adventist Church as a Youth Pastoral Assistant. Throughout this time he has learned how to mentor young people with empathy and care, through times of hardship and questioning.
Originally from Canberra, Brayden enjoys staying fit by playing various team sports and joining in at group class focused gyms. He also thoroughly enjoys being out in nature whether that be camping or hiking, and when COVID restrictions don’t exist, travelling the world and exploring all the beauty out there.
Finally settling into Mildura this year, Brayden has so far enjoyed his experience there, as can be seen in the grape picking photo above! He is excited to make some safe lasting relationships, and embracing the journey with God’s people in Mildura.
