Casey Church, in need of a permanent home, has purchased land and is planning to build a church… ‘real soon’! Those of you who have been involved in church building projects understand that there are many obstacles and hurdles that have to be endured in the planning processes. They are a fingers breadth away from receiving the building permit and if everything continues as planned, the look forward to opening late 2022.
We would like to share one story of a huge hug from God that the church received during this process.
The builder was struggling to obtain timber for the project. With the year Victoria had last year and the number of building projects that were taking place, building grade timber has become hard to come by. In desperation, he asked his brother-in-law, a church member who’s business is building pallets, if he could help. The brother-in-law, after praying about it and knowing God can do the impossible, contacted someone ‘high up’ at his own supplier, one of Australia’s largest timber mills. He explained to the Rep he was looking for building grade materials for a church and the Rep, giving him a slim-to-none chance, agreed to ask his boss.
The Rep spoke with one of the main bosses of the company, explaining the situation.
“Who is asking?” asked the boss. The Rep gave him the name of the building company and he looked at their history as a customer.
“What is it for?” the boss asked next.
“A church.”
“Here, give it to me,” he said and signed off on the order.
Praise be to God, the Master Carpenter! He had already allocated the timber for His church.
