On Sabbath morning the 16th April, Bairnsdale SDA Church put on a musical Easter concert attended by over 100 people. Aided by overhead illustrations Pastor Rian Van Deventer took us through the gospel story from creation to the cross, the resurrection and the blessed hope of the Second Coming of Christ. Choir singing and special musical items illustrated the experience. Pastor Rian made an appeal for those who wanted to follow Christ. Among us that Sabbath were several volunteers and some Food Bank recipients, community people who hadn’t previously been to our church. After the concert those folk were among the many who shared a delicious meal in the church cafeteria. The day was a memorable Easter occasion which we pray will draw more people closer to the Saviour.
